Commiserating
This is for misszoot!
My kitchen looked so good last night when I came home from school because G cleaned it up. All it took was one night and getting leftovers prepared for it to look like this.
Anyone else struggle to have the clean and organized home that you want while also working and taking care of a family? So frustrating.

I think we should start a revolution. Making having a cluttered kitchen some sort of bold political statement so we can just leave it like that all the time and be all, "Yes. But my kitchen is messy for a REASON."
Part of the issue is that I AM THE ONLY ONE that knows we own this nifty appliance where you can put dirty dishes in, and when you open the door again, they are clean. It sits right next to the sink, yet nobody has noticed it yet.
One hint my mom gave me (and I even sometimes do it) is to wash as I go. Use a bowl, wash it. Use a pan, wash it...etc. Then, at least all the things piled on the counter are clean :-)
Some days are good for us, some not so much. We try our Flylady routines, and thankfully that's more than just me. When I'm too tired to do the dishes, sometimes Niki (SIL) or DH will pitch in. But sometimes, we just all crash and leave it for the morning.
Amen, sister. Sometimes, you just have to let it be a mess. But that is hard too! Knowing that eventually somebody is going to have to clean up.
If only there was a cleaning fairy!
