So I read this article today linking stress during pregnancy to schizophrenia.
Go ahead, read it.
Today I found out that my paycheck from last week was returned. Yes, you read that right, it BOUNCED like a rubber ball. Wanna guess how extremely stressed I'm feeling right now?

The media misrepresents research all the time.
Schizophrenia has a strong genetic component to begin with, and the risk is still TINY in this study.
Stress in pregnancy will not cause schizophrenia. Correlation does not equal causation.
This could be a good example to bring up in the research methods class I teach.
